"We are incredibly thankful for receiving this Edna Y. Schwartz Scholarship, which provided Sana with the opportunity to attend Belvoir for two summers. The camp has had a profound impact on her life.

Sana had the privilege of participating in this camp for two consecutive summers, and each one was a life-changing experience. Sana's first summer at Belvoir was particularly memorable because it marked the beginning of her stay in the United States for the first time. Sana traveled all the way from Japan to attend the camp, filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety. The prospect of being in a foreign country and immersing herself in a new culture was both thrilling and daunting. Belvoir's staff and fellow campers embraced her with open hearts. Their warmth, kindness, and inclusivity made her feel safe and allowed her to thrive, greatly impacting her personal growth.

Throughout that summer, Sana had the opportunity to explore various classes, such as modern dance, musical theater, cello, chamber music, tennis, and swimming. These experiences not only broadened her horizons, but also allowed her to discover new passions and talents. Belvoir provided an environment where she could learn and grow in ways she had never imagined. It gave her confidence, strength, and independence.

What made both summers truly special were the lasting friendships she formed. Despite coming from different parts of the world, she found wonderful friends and a sense of belonging. These connections transcended geographical boundaries and cultural differences, nurturing a feeling of unity in an unfamiliar setting, just like her aunt who attended Belvoir in her teenage years.

Sana will forever be grateful for the camp and the scholarship she received. She will cherish the education and friendships she found at Belvoir and carry these experiences deep in her heart. As parents, we are eternally grateful to Nancy and Diane for supporting her every step of the way. Sana will proudly carry on the Belvoir purple legacy."
